Maldives is an insular country located in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India. It is constituted by 1196 islands, 203 of which are inhabited. They are divided into 26 atolls, each of them named like one or two of the letters of the Thaana script. Its capital and most populated city is Malé. The climate is tropical and wet, influenced by the monsoons. The main religion is Islam, which was introduced in the country in 1153. It is the less populated country in Asia and also the less populated one among the Muslim countries, and it is one of the smallest Asian countries. It is also the lowest country in the world and has the lowest natural highest point on the planet: only 2,3 m.

Maldives is one of the best places in the world for scuba divers. There are many reasons to support Maldives as the paradise for scuba diving. Maldives is one of the biggest marine reserves in the world and being able to see a big variety of marine animals, such as whales, sharks, manta rays or the clownfish, without having to dive deep, is probably one of the main reasons all types of divers from all over the world come to Maldives to enjoy a diving safari in Maldives.

When it comes to deciding, which are the best places to go scuba diving, choosing Maldives is the easiest part. However, when you have to decide the best way to enjoy the variety of the marine live of these tropical islands, you can be a little confused. Should I choose between land-based or liveaboard diving?

From our humble point of view, we advocate for diving safaris and here are the main reasons why we believe that diving safaris are the best option to choose.

Go anywhere. Go anytime. The mission of a diving safari is to satisfy your desire of discovering as much as possible.

Maldives is blessed with some of the best dives sites, many of which are yet to be discovered. For this reason, you have more chances to explore in depth Maldives on a diving safari.

Moreover, on board a diving cruise you have more opportunities to bump into some of the most amazing and most wanted animals in the planet. We are talking about the Maldives Big Five. Whale sharks, manta rays, grey reefs sharks, moray eels and turtles.

Overall, diving safaris offer an irresistible sense of adventure.  As you may know, we offer several different routes. On the way through the atolls, the cruise stops off at local fishing villages, little islands, and other interesting spots. Diving safaris allow you to discover in depth all those atolls, meet local people, and learn about the Maldivian culture in a relaxed way. Furthermore, diving safaris offer a very friendly atmosphere whether you are a single diver, on your honeymoon or coming with your group of friends.

Finally, if you are not fully convinced, listen to the last thing we would like to say. Imagine being in the middle of the ocean, with the moon light reflected on the water, having an incredible dinner with the crew and some other divers that probably will be your friends forever. Today you have been blessed with an incredible dive. You have admired a majestic whale shark and tonight you have a sky full of starts as a roof…and best of all. It is just the first day…

Enrolling to a diving safari is without any doubt one of the best options to enjoy the variety of marine life in Maldives. We even dare to say that it is the best option to choose if you want to get out the best of this amazing experience. There are many reasons to believe that diving safaris are the mandatory option and we want to share with you the reasons why we have become one of the best specialists in diving safaris in Maldives.

Although we may not yet know each other, the only thing we can completely assure is your passion for diving. Because of that, we truly understand and share this particular philosophy of live. For many people, getting on board a diving cruise in Maldives with estrangers can be awkward or even risky. However, for us (and we assume you are part of this team) is just the way we have to engage with the same kind of people, with those that are crazily, madly and deeply in love about diving in open waters.

It usually goes like this. Divers wake up in the morning approximately 30 minutes before the first dive briefing. After eating a light meal they get ready for the adventure of the day: an average of 3-4 dives in some of most incredible dive sites in the entire planet. When the bell rings, it is time to jump into the diving boat (called Dhoni). After a short ride (10 minutes approx.), in which divers checklist that everything is already for the dive, it is time to jump into the water.

Although we could try really hard to describe the feeling of diving in Maldives, we would not be able to succeed or being able to capture the real essence of this moment. We would rather you to live it.

After the first dive it is time to have breakfast. Please help yourself. You can choose from a variety of delicious products, such as eggs, fruits, cereals, different types of juices and much more, but make sure you eat enough food to have energy for the next dives! Despite the fact that diving safaris can be an extremely fun experience, they can also be a little bit exhausting. However, before the next dive, you will also have time to relax and to lay on the ship’s bow or even taking a quick swim in the little swimming pool inside the cruise.

Ring bells! Time to announce the second briefing of the day and submerge again in the tropical waters for another amazing dive in Maldives. After that, lunch will be ready, and if you are thinking that a little nap is the perfect next step, you are completely right. You will have time to sleep a little bit and regain strength.

In the afternoon you will be able to enjoy another dive and if you still have some power in your body then night diving is your last choice for the day. After a couple of hours of sharing the experiences with your colleagues, you will also be able to surf a little bit the Internet and get in touch with your family and friends.  Living aboard during some days makes you belong to a family clan. You will have one of the best experiences of your life, and probably most of the people you will meet, will be your friends forever. Enrolling to a diving safari with BuceoFilipinas and Submaldives fleet is probably and indescribable experience and we are looking forward to sharing it together. See you soon!
